Judge Anthony J. Carpinello State Supreme Court Justice For Immediate Release: October 6, 2008 Democrats for Judge Carpinello Effort Launched A Democrats for Judge Carpinello effort has been started to give regional Democrats the opportunity to show their support for the re-election of State Supreme Court Justice Anthony Carpinello. The effort includes lawn signs for enrolled Democrats and will expand to include letters of support from Democrats urging other Democrats to support Judge Carpinello, an enrolled Republican. The Democrats for Judge Carpinello notes the strong support by Democrats across the Third Judicial District for the re-election of Judge Carpinello. Along with receiving unanimous support at the Republican, Independence and Conservative judicial conventions, Judge Carpinello came within one vote of securing the Democratic nomination last month. Following that vote, a number of prominent Democrats pledged their help for the re-election of Judge Carpinello, noting his experience and service on the State Supreme Court and as an Appellate Division justice for 12 years. During his judicial career, Judge Carpinello has fairly decided more than 12,000 cases. In supporting Judge Carpinello, Democrats have also noted Judge Carpinello is the only candidate in the race to have been rated qualified by the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the Third Judicial District. “I have been honored to have the support of so many from across the district, including a number of prominent Democrats. I am very honored that these Democrats are continuing and expanding their support for me as we move toward Election Day,” said Judge Carpinello. “These Democrats have shown great enthusiasm and dedication for my re-election and the Democrats for Judge Carpinello effort grew out of that spirit,” said Judge Carpinello. Signs for the Democrats for Judge Carpinello effort have already been distributed to supporters in Albany and Ulster counties. Signs will be distributed to Democrat supporters in other counties this week. The Democrats for Judge Carpinello effort began late last week.
