Carpinello State Supreme Court Justice For Immediate Release: October 16, 2008 Two New TV Ads Unveiled by Judge Carpinello Campaign Two new television commercials in support of the re-election of State Supreme Court Justice Anthony Carpinello are now running, focusing on the judge’s experience and strong bi-partisan support from among voters. The two new advertisements began running this week on television stations throughout the Third Judicial District, which includes seven counties in upstate and can be seen here. The first advertisement highlights Judge Carpinello’s years of service and ability as a judge, reminding voters of the importance of electing a qualified judge. The second ad features various residents of the area from different political parties voicing their support for the re-election of Judge Carpinello. “I am proud of these new commercials, which are positive, upbeat and take note of my experience and bi-partisan support. They have been an effective way to reach out to voters during this campaign,” said Judge Carpinello. The Judge Carpinello campaign has run television and radio commercials throughout summer and early fall. Judge Carpinello is the only judge who is now in the race for the Third Judicial District to have been rated qualified by the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the Third Judicial District. Judicial candidates either receive a rating of “qualified” or “unqualified” after submitting to review by the IJEQC. Judge Carpinello has served as a State Supreme Court Justice since 1995, following a distinguished legal career and decades of public service. His ability and experience were recognized by his selection as an associate justice of the Appellate Division Third Department in 1996. The Appellate Division entertains appeals from all trial level courts in 28 counties in Upstate New York. As an Associate Justice of the Court, Judge Carpinello has participated in deciding or resolving over 12,000 reported cases. As judge and attorney, Judge Carpinello’s experience has been recognized with his service as an instructor at various programs and training courses for attorneys and hearing officers on subjects including legal actions involving municipalities, state appellate practice and business matters. Judge Carpinello was recently appointed by Chief Judge Judith Kaye as the Chair of the statewide Continuing Legal Education Board. The Third Judicial District stretches through the Capital Region into the Hudson Valley and includes the counties of Rensselaer, Albany, Columbia, Ulster, Schoharie, Greene and Sullivan. Judge Carpinello has presided over trials in the majority of counties in the Third Judicial District along with New York County.
